GM Electric Vehicle Adoption Context for Chevrolet

Chevrolet-only reporting does not provide every market-share or quarterly total, so GM’s parent-company figures help define the broader operating context. GM reported 16,425 U.S. EV sales in Q1 2024, 21,930 in Q2, and 32,095 in Q3, all across GM brands.

GM U.S. EV measure Period Result Scope

EV sales Q2 2024 21,930 All GM brands
EV sales Q3 2024 32,095 All GM brands

EV share estimate Q3 2024 9.3% U.S. EV market, all GM brands
EV share estimate Q4 2024 Approximately 12% U.S. EV market, all GM brands

The share figures are GM estimates, not independently audited Chevrolet shares. GM also reported 114,432 U.S. EV sales in 2024, up 50% year over year, and 43,982 in the fourth quarter, up 125%; neither is Chevrolet-only.

GM said it was on track to build and wholesale about 200,000 GM-branded EVs in North America in a 2024 forecast stated October 8, 2024. This was a forward-looking company target, not a Chevrolet-only production result.

Battery operations were another parent-company indicator: GM reported that battery-module production had increased 300% over the six months ending April 23, 2024. That operational measure applies to GM Ultium battery operations, not Chevrolet vehicle production.

The 2023 Bolt EV offered 57 cubic feet of maximum cargo room with the rear seat folded. Chevrolet listed an 8-year or 100,000-mile battery-limited warranty for the Blazer EV in its 2026 model-year listing accessed October 1, 2026.
