GM’s official U.S. delivery table reports Chevrolet deliveries, including Chevrolet BrightDrop models and discontinued models. It records a stronger fourth quarter and a modest full-year increase.

Measure Q4 2024 Q4 2023 Change
Chevrolet deliveries, United States 481,064 412,176 +16.7%
Chevrolet deliveries, January–December 1,745,809 1,716,280 +1.7%

GM separately said Chevrolet sales rose 1.5% in 2024 to the brand’s highest level since 2019, and described Q4 growth as 17% year over year. Those rounded statements are consistent in direction with the delivery table, but the table provides the more precise Chevrolet totals.

GM-wide figures provide scale, not a Chevrolet-only substitute. GM sold 755,000 vehicles in the United States in Q4 2024 versus 625,000 in Q4 2023, while its U.S. market share was 17.5% and 15.5%, respectively.

In the full year, GM reported 2.705 million U.S. vehicle sales in 2024 versus 2.595 million in 2023, a 4.3% increase in the delivery table. GM’s estimated U.S. market share was 16.5% in 2024 versus 16.2% in 2023.

Silverado total combines the light-duty, HD and EV variants in GM’s delivery table. The combined line reached 560,264 U.S. deliveries in 2024, with different directions among its variants.

Silverado line Q4 2024 Q4 change 2024 total Full-year change
Total 147,868 +2.8% 560,264 +0.8%
Light-duty 88,835 -0.6% 358,771 +1.1%
HD 54,078 +7.0% 183,746 -2.5%
EV 2,176 +391.2% 7,428 +1,511.3%

Source: GM U.S. Deliveries for Quarter 4 2024.

The Silverado EV’s 7,428 deliveries in 2024 represent a small-base comparison: GM reported 461 in 2023. Q4 deliveries were 2,176, up from 443 in Q4 2023, so the very large percentage gains should be read alongside the underlying unit counts.

The conventional pickup lines were larger parts of the reported total. Light-duty deliveries reached 358,771 in 2024, while HD deliveries reached 183,746; their annual changes moved in opposite directions.

Chevrolet SUV Sales Statistics

The Suburban, Tahoe and Trailblazer show a common pattern in the supplied 2024 data: each posted a large Q4 year-over-year increase while each remained below its 2023 calendar-year delivery total.

Model Q4 2024 deliveries Q4 change 2024 deliveries Full-year change
Suburban 13,886 +36.9% 44,398 -15.9%
Tahoe 33,367 +27.2% 105,147 -4.7%
Trailblazer 22,690 +22.4% 104,398 -6.0%

Tahoe was the largest of these three lines by 2024 reported deliveries, at 105,147, compared with 44,398 for Suburban. Trailblazer’s 104,398 deliveries were close to Tahoe’s level, although the models are not identical vehicle categories.

GM also said its full-size SUVs led the U.S. market for the 50th consecutive year in 2024. That is a GM-wide category claim and should not be interpreted as a Chevrolet-only market-share statistic.

Traverse and Trax Crossover Sales

Traverse and Trax produced contrasting full-year results. Traverse deliveries fell from 123,555 in 2023 to 105,835 in 2024, while Trax deliveries rose from 109,382 to 200,689.

Model Q4 2024 deliveries Q4 2023 Q4 change 2024 deliveries Full-year change
Traverse 35,983 22,556 +59.5% 105,835 -14.3%
Trax 50,927 44,127 +15.4% 200,689 +83.5%

Source: GM U.S. Deliveries for Quarter 4 2024.

Trax’s 2024 calendar-year increase was 91,307 vehicles over 2023, as reported alongside the 83.5% growth rate in GM’s delivery table. GM’s separate release rounded Trax growth to 84% and said the model led the small-SUV segment; the release excerpt does not detail the basis for that leadership statement.

In Q4 2024, reported Trax deliveries of 50,927 exceeded Traverse deliveries of 35,983. These are delivery levels from the same U.S. table, not a calculated ratio.

Chevrolet Sales by Market and Vehicle Category

Chevrolet-specific model deliveries in the supplied data are U.S. measures. Broader GM tables add historical context, but they include all GM brands, fleet activity and, in some regions, joint ventures.

GM measure 2023 2022 Geography or scope
Total vehicle sales 2.595 million 2.274 million United States, all GM brands
Cars 224,000 214,000 United States, all GM brands
Trucks 1.303 million 1.246 million United States, all GM brands
Crossovers 1.068 million 814,000 United States, all GM brands
Market share 16.2% 16.0% United States, all GM brands

GM’s U.S. truck market share was 30.7% in 2023 versus 31.4% in 2022, while its crossover market share was 12.3% versus 10.9%. These category shares are GM-wide rather than Chevrolet-only.

Outside the United States, GM’s China sales were 2.099 million vehicles in 2023 and 2.303 million in 2022, with China market share of 8.4% and 9.8%, respectively. The figures include SAIC-GM and SAIC GM Wuling joint ventures and are not Chevrolet-only.

Worldwide GM sales were 6.188 million vehicles in 2023 versus 5.941 million in 2022. Worldwide market share was 7.1% in 2023 and 7.5% in 2022; these totals include joint ventures and are not Chevrolet-only.

GM Context: EVs, Wholesale Volume and Fleet Mix

Several GM measures help explain the commercial setting around Chevrolet sales, but they use different populations and definitions. Wholesale sales are sales to dealers, distributors and the U.S. government; they are not the same as retail Chevrolet deliveries.

GM’s U.S. EV sales rose 125% year over year in 2024. GM sold 42,000 EVs in Q4 2024, which was 10,000 more than in Q3, and said Q4 EV sales were nearly twice its Q2 total; the latter is a qualitative estimate because no exact Q2 total is supplied.

GM reported an average Q4 2024 transaction price of nearly $53,000 for U.S. GM sales. This is a rounded GM-wide estimate, not a Chevrolet-only average price.

Wholesale measure 2024 2023 Scope
GM total wholesale sales 4.010 million 3.768 million North America and International
GM North America 3.464 million 3.147 million GMNA
GM International 547,000 621,000 GMI

GM said 27.9% of its 2024 wholesale vehicle volume was generated outside the United States. The wholesale measure excludes joint-venture vehicles, so it should not be compared directly with worldwide total vehicle sales.

Finally, GM estimated 1.185 million fleet sales worldwide in 2023, equal to 19.2% of total vehicle sales, compared with 990,000 and 16.7% in 2022. Fleet sales include businesses, governments and daily rental companies, and the figures are estimates rather than Chevrolet-only observations.

GM states that total vehicle sales are management estimates based on dealer, distributor and joint-venture reports, commercial information such as registration and insurance data, and internal estimates or forecasts when other data is unavailable. The Chevrolet model figures above are U.S. calendar-year or quarterly deliveries, while the GM regional and worldwide figures are labeled context with their stated scope.
